FUNCTIONS

  • Giving professional advice to the Accounting Officer and other Directors on matters relating to finance, appropriations and other technical treasury circulars;
  • Receipt and Disbursement of Government Funds as guided by Statutory Provisions and Financial Regulations, and other Establishment Circulars;
  • Maintaining all accounting books and records as well as supervise all accounting functions to ensure compliance as well as regulatory framework;
  • Installing, supervising and controlling the computerization of the Accounting System;
  • Rendition of Accounting Returns to Accountant General of the Federation, on monthly basis and peculiar ones required from time to time;
  • Supervision of all budgetary matters to ensure prtoper focus and the maximization of dividend of democracy to all Nigerians;
  • Attendance of Audit Queries as well as any other assignment that may be assigned to it;
  • Preparation of Budget Proposals; and
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of Budget implementation.
