Mandate of the office

The SSO is responsible for the formulation, coordination and the implementation of security policies of Government. These include initiating and advising Government on general security issues as well as liaising between the public and Government establishments on one hand, and the Security Agencies and the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the other.
