The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has commended the team spirit among the executive members of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in initiating projects aimed at boosting teaching and learning.

The SGF stated this when he received the executive members of the ABU Alumni Association in his office.

He appreciated various projects initiated by the Alumni which include: Bus Service to ease students transportation on campus; the construction and completion of the front block of the abandoned “Sabbatical Suites, Samaru, Zaria; the National Secretariat for the use of the Association; for organizing and financing a Workshop for the institution for the purpose of improving teaching; the tours to the six geo-political zones to strengthen the state branches among others.

The SGF further commended their self-sacrificing spirit for giving back to the institution, the commitment as well as their and resourcefulness to ABU their alma mater.

He pledged his continued support as an alumnus to help the Association realize its dream. He pointed out that three, out of the six Permanent Secretaries in his office namely Dr. Habiba M. Lawal (Permanent Secretary Ecological Fund Office), Dr. Amina Shamaki (mni) (Permanent Secretary Special Services Office) and Engr. Festus Daudu (Permanent Secretary Special Duties Office) are ABU alumni also pledged to contribute their quota towards the development of the institution.

Speaking earlier, the National President of the ABU Alumni Association Professor Ahmed Tijjani Mora, mni (Wakilin Maganin Zazzau), said they were in the office to express their profound gratitude to SGF as the alumnus and a distinguished Service Award Winner of the ABU Alumni Association, and to also congratulate him over the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general elections.

He further thanked him for gracing the 2018 Annual General Assembly Lecture as the Special Guest of Honour on Friday, 14th September, 2018 at Samaru Zaria; his support for the Postgraduate Students Hostel through his invitation to State Governors, Honourable Ministers and some Chief Executive Officers of Federal Government Parastatals that are Alumnus of ABU; his support to the Laptop Computer Loan Scheme of the Association and his attendance at the AGA Lecture that enabled the University to benefit from the Federal Government Ecological Fund.
