Mandate of the office
The Cabinet Affairs Office (CAO) has the responsibility for providing administrative and technical support to the three statutory Councils (the Federal Executive Council, the Council of State and the Nigeria Police Council) presided over by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Committees that evolve from these Councils. The CAO, more than any other office under the supervision of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), defines the mandate of the SGF and puts the Office constantly in the eye of the President-in-Council.
FUNCTIONS OF CABINET AFFAIRS OFFICE
- Facilitation of meetings of all statutory councils set up in line with the discharge of the duties and responsibilities of The President and C-in-C.
- Accurate recording of proceedings, decisions and directives of the various Councils and Committees of government
- Processing of various documents incidental to the work of the Councils, Committees, Panels, etc.
- Archival documentation, classification and preservation of the confidentiality of the records of Government..

- Minutes of meetings, Council Conclusions should be prepared and circulated at least a day before the commencement of the next meeting.
CENTRAL DELIVERY COORDINATION UNIT (CDCU)
